Jakarta (ANTARA) - A total of 10 fashion designers and four accessory brands from the Indonesian Sharia Creative Industry (IKRA Indonesia) are ready to appear at the international fashion week Virtual Fashion Show Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Russia, this evening at 19.00 WIB.
"Indonesia is targeted as the center of the global halal industry, through Indonesian Muslim fashion products which are potential commodities for the international market," said M. Anwar Bashori, Head of the Department of Islamic Economy & Finance at Bank Indonesia through a bold discussion, Thursday (22/10).
"The participation of Muslim fashion entrepreneurs who are members of IKRA Indonesia in this fashion week is an opportunity to compete in the international arena and penetrate the global market," he continued.
IKRA Indonesia, which was initiated by Bank Indonesia and the Vivi Zubedi Indonesia Foundation, is a platform that brings together sharia business actors, one of which is the halal sector to build a sustainable ecosystem for the holistic development of sharia business products in Indonesia.
Fashion designers and accessory brands that will be presenting the Spring Summer 2021 collection at the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Russia are Vivi Zubedi, Wignyo x Rorokenes, Agung Bali Collection x Bahalap, Adhy Alie, Roemah Kebaya Vielga, Thiffa Qaisty, IR & IR, Ina Priyono, Defika Hanum x PALA Nusantara and Shoes by UJ Yuna, and Anggia x Beadstown.
The simple clothing collection that will be displayed carries the concept of sustainable fashion, namely the use of raw materials and local human resources to drive the local economy and refers to the inspiration of global trends and environmental and social concerns. The collection also applies Trend Forecasting 2021/2022 with the theme "The New Beginning" about changing lifestyles to face a new era.
“This virtual international fashion week stage is a valuable opportunity during this pandemic. Fashion designers and accessories for MSME players in Indonesia can showcase and introduce the world on a global scale, especially the market," said Ali Charisma, National Chair of the Indonesian Fashion Chamber.
"This opportunity opens up opportunities for MSMEs in Indonesia to enter the export market. It is hoped that Indonesian simple clothing products can really be accepted in the European market," Ali added.
